YAPPIKA-ActionAid is a non-profit organization working to help build and protect civil society and promote human rights in Indonesia. In addition to advocacy and support, YAPPIKA-ActionAid also oversees several service programs both directly and with local partners that benefit underserved populations, including children and excluded minorities. YAPPIKA-ActionAid is a member of ActionAid International, a global network of national offices and partners working with over 15 million people in 45 countries for a world free from poverty and injustice.




This position reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager and working across the organization, the F2F Fundraising Manager will design and deliver a communications strategy that increases the profile of YAPPIKA-ActionAid Indonesia while also supporting programs, fundraising, and advocacy & campaigning objectives.

The F2F Fundraising Manager in his/her capacity is responsible to deliver a highly ambitious market entry strategy focusing on building an unrestricted income from the individuals

Key elements of the strategy will include:

  • Promote YAPPIKA-ActionAid campaign goals and objectives
  • Maintain a diverse and secure funding base from regular monthly donors
  • Recruit committed donors using face to face technique
  • Expansion of face to face program across Indonesia and test F2F approach with other methods
  • Developing innovative ways of working
  • Ensuring all resources are used as efficiently as possible and income opportunities are maximized.


He/She will play a key role in shaping the overall strategy of the organization and driving forward new initiatives to ensure long-term sustainability.

Working with the Fund Raising team, the post holder shares the accountability to build the most positive and affirming work environment possible and ensure that the management, staffing, and culture of the organization are suitably aligned with the mission, evolving goals, and strategic ambitions

  • Lead the Face to face unit for the strategic planning process
  • Increase the focus on the best performing target groups
  • Adjust and refine strategies to ensure Key Performance Indicators are met
  • Remain up to date on face to face fundraising strategies worldwide and translate possibilities to Indonesia
  • Provide the vision and leadership required to maximize the potential of the Face to Face donors recruitment program
  • Drive the evolution of the face to face program by looking for opportunities to improve through the refinement of current procedures, strategic planning and implementation of new initiatives
  • Develop and implement strategies to make F2F Fundraiser feel an integrated part of YAPPIKA-ActionAid
  • Take an active role in the wider fundraising strategy, planning and implementation
  • Develop relationships and cooperation with suppliers and agencies as necessary
  • Develop and manage the F2F team (In House and working with F2F agency)
  • Set up operation and maintenance F2F operation in Jakarta and Surabya
  • Lead expansion to 2 other potential cities where F2F program can expand and Monitor where F2F agency work in those cities.
  • Helping on development and monitoring of annual plan and budgets
  • Ensure that expenditure is monitored regularly and variances reported
  • Maintain and increase the focus on the best performing target groups
  • Adjust and refine strategies to ensure Key Performance Indicators are met
  • Remain up to date on F2F fundraising strategies and implement to be best practice for Indonesia F2F program
  • Provide the vision and leadership required to maximize the potential of the F2F recruitment program
  • Drive the evolution of the F2F program by looking for opportunities to improve through the refinement of current procedures, strategic planning and implementation of a new initiative
  • Day to day management of F2F program in Indonesia
  • Conduct performance appraisals for F2F team with line managed staff
  • Manage, training, coaching and ensure the development of F2F team
  • Ensure an effective promotion path is provided to ensure senior team roles for in-house F2F team are always filled
  • Ensure the Performance Management system for F2F team is robust and adhered to
  • Manage disciplinary issues of the in house F2F team that fall outside of the Performance Management system
  • Ensure a robust recruitment strategy is maintained to fulfill staffing requirements
  • Ensure that high standards are followed in the recruitment processes
  • Review and update Training Modules as required and ensure the highest standards of training is maintained
  • Maintain and develop the retention programs and rewards for F2F team
  • Develop distance management tools for motivation and development of staff
  • Increase the focus on the best performing target groups
  • Supervise the event team to ensure that high standards of venues are consistently confirmed to meet the fundraising program needs.
  • Work with appropriate members of the Fundraising and Marketing team to provide other useful reporting such as individual fundraiser performance, demographic analysis etc
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting by the team to the Senior Manager of Fundraising and Marketing.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate administration, results in reporting and payroll.
  • Manage the movement of forms to ensure income is received as soon as possible
  • Ensure YAPPIKA-ActionAid policy and procedures are observed
  • Oversee the effective management of all stocks of uniforms, display equipment and stationery
  • Ensure that adequate supplies are available at all times, in each of the cities
  • Ensure the program remains transparent within the organization, report Key Performance Indicators at the staff meeting
  • Liaise with other Fundraising and Marketing unit to ensure any necessary bank information is communicated to teams and other matters related to Direct Dialogue operation
  • Working with other Fundraising and Marketing unit to ensure the quality of information delivered and integrated approach
  • Working and coordinate with other functions in YAPPIKA-ActionAid to ensure the integration process between a unit in YAPPIKA-ActionAid.
  • Facilitate weekly team leader meeting and weekly team meeting, including updates of the campaign and organizational issues
  • Represent and promote YAPPIKA-ActionAid with enthusiasm and professionalism, building and strengthening relationships with key donors, funders and prospects, and the media as appropriate
  • Lead the field of fundraising and philanthropy, monitoring trends to ensure YAPPIKA-ActionAid benefits from current knowledge, resources, and techniques
  • Infuse the culture of fundraising into all YAPPIKA-ActionAid’s activities
  • Ensure the proper communication and attitude of campaigners to keep a positive image and public trust to YAPPIKA-ActionAid

Staff Management, Mentorship, and Development

  • Ensure appropriate staffing within face to face unit
  • Ensure that all staff understand and are able to perform their role in an emergency
  • Manage face to face program; define expectations, provide leadership and technical support as needed, and evaluate direct reports regularly
  • Ensure the recruitment, training, and promotion of staff as appropriate and ensure availability of appropriate professional development opportunities for staff
  • Incorporate staff development strategies and Performance Management Systems into the team-building process Establish a result-based system and follow up.
  • Manage the performance of all staff in the Human Resources work area through:
  • Effective use of the Performance Management System including the establishment of clear, measurable objectives, ongoing feedback, periodic reviews and fair and unbiased evaluations;
  • Coaching, mentoring and other developmental opportunities;
  • Recognition and rewards for outstanding performance;
  • Documentation of performance that is less than satisfactory, with appropriate performance improvements/ work plan


  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience in a corporate or an NGO environment (Ideally have some experience working for an international NGO), including experience in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans through a number of planning cycles
  • Minimun 3 year experience managing F2F Fundrasing operation for nonprofit
  • Experience of development and execution of fundraising strategy including, mass-market individual
  • A marketing and fundraising generalist with a proven track record in developing fundraising plans which lead to increased revenue Emphasis on mass-market fundraising and securing corporate partnerships
  • Ability to use numbers to support all fundraising decisions
  • Excellent experience of computerized accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to build a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary
  • Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
  • A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Indonesian
  • Time, task and record management skills, public speaking skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to accurately analyze data and make decisions based on information
